This time a year ago, we first sent out a wide-ranging set of questions to a multidisciplinary and international panel of healthcare professionals who have had first-hand experience in the management of scoliosis in Rett syndrome.

A multistage consultation (Delphi technique) was used to reach consensus from the panel on a guideline document. This process has resulted in a well-structured, useful set of guidelines that can be used to better inform all involved in the management of scoliosis in Rett syndrome. The guidelines also provide a platform for the development of research to improve the level of evidence in this area.
